Say it aint so!  Gawker put up this post quoting some dissent between the CEO and COO of Penthouse as to the future of the print publication.  As a girl, I’ve always been a fan of the Penthouse Forums.  Playboy was cool for some of the articles and the real pretty overexposed girls, but Penthouse was the one for raunchy pictorals and stories to accompany.  Pets were hot too. ; )

Penthouse put out a few movies in the last few years also.

A long time ago(about 10 years), a guy walks out of a Blockbuster and says to himself “Why am I paying these damn late fees?  These guys suck, talk about corporate america screwing the little guy.”

Ladies and Gentlemen, meet Reed Hastings, the birth of Netflix.com and the death of Blockbuster.  Well not total death, but pretty damn close.  But alas, all is not lost.  Here are some ideas for Blockbuster if they decide to turn things around:

RENT PORN.  Ok Blockbuster guys, I’m gonna give you a litte hint to survive.  Call up these guys at a company called WantedList, and buy their company(cash only please) for less than what you paid for MovieLink.  Now you have porn.  EASY.

Playboy is a very interesting company to watch.  It’s a modern day soap opera, where this evil corporate structure is tying to wrest control away from family control that may be outdated.  Here’s an interesting article where the question was posed to some adult leaders, including one of the founders of WantedList, in which they were posed with the question: What would you do with Playboy?

You know what I’d do?  In the idiocracy that we call society, I’d dumb it down for all the masses and make choosing of the next Hugh Hefner a contestant reality show.  The show would get ratings, and the company wouldn’t be any worse off than it is right now.  And everyone could Facebook the contestants for voting, and we could Twitter/Group think it to death.

We don’t carry that froo froo Playboy stuff anymore, so how about some nice hardcore anal?

Here’s a very interesting article from ABC News.  The largest consumers of porn in the US are good ol’ folks living in the Red states.  Which is interesting because these are the people that are so publicly vocal against porn.

But you know what, that’s ok by me.  Porn is a private matter to be enjoyed by adults like you and me.  It proves that we’re all human.

This post was put up on slashdot a bit ago.  There’s apparently a new beta SilverLight player that Netflix is allowing its customers to use, but users are pretty pissed about it.  Reasons include: feelings of being tricked into using it, slow low quality streams, and not being able to go back to the old player.  Sounds like my last relationship.

And people don’t trust porn companies?  The only fucking that’s going on is on the screen.
